one of my friends turned up to work with a bandaid on her forehead - she had burnt herself straightening. oh, how i laughed!
i havent burnt myself with mine yet, so fingers crossed!

I have a curling tong burn scar on my leg that has been there for over 2 years but it's slowly faded and you can barely see it now haha was so funny though. My boyfriend has never seen me without it so he kinda likes it haha!

I had just got a Bed Hair curler for Christmas, and it came with two detachable tongs that you could lock into the main piece. I let it heat up, and I was so sure I had locked one of the tongs in, but when I went to curl my hair, the tong came flying off and burnt me really bad on my wrist! Yeah years ago, while on holidays I was blow drying my hair with the cheap dryer they provide at hotels, half my hair got caught in the fan at the back, hubby had to cut off what hadn't been ripped out of my scalp already.

my parlux 3200 gets really, really hot, and every now and then i put it too close to my scalp and leave it there for over two seconds and it burns and hurts like crazy!
sometimes my mum asks me to blow dry her hair for her, and it always consists of around 5 screams from her fromme concentrating the nozzle too close to her scalp and burning it. not my fault though, she wants straight hair so i have to get the kinks out at the root
sometimes i put massive rollers in my hair to give it a tousled look, and heaps of times i've asked my mum to put them in for me. my god. she digs those clips (the ones that hold the roller in place) right in to my head

Once I was rushing trying to get reasy to go out and I accidentally grabbed the straightener by the wrong end - but INSIDE the tongs... It was so bad I still went out but was clutching an icepack the whole time and had to go home from the pain when it melted

I haven't done it with my GHD, but I used to with my Babyliss straightener. It killed!
