When I went brunette (from medium blonde) I showed the hairdresser a pic of Melania (Donald Trump's wife) when she was a really dark brown colour and asked for rich chocolate brown with warmth (which means they'll add a very slight red or purple tone which prevents it from looking dull and flat, or too harsh against your skin tone). I would say dark or medium brown over light, light brown can look a bit mousy at times. Brown also looks nice with subtle foils (no more than two shades lighter). Sorry don't have any pics!
