Best Foundation for $60 or under - Page 5
Question:
My top picks are - Revlon Colorstay Natural foundation L'Oreal Visible Lift foundation Innoxa Line Minimizing (?) foundation Physician's Formula Mineral liquid foundation Answer: Originally Posted by pinkykss Thanks to other Pinky I tried it yesterday mixed with TBS Tinted Glow Enhancer - it was absolute perfection I love TBS Tinted Glow Enhancer! Did you mix equal parts and put it all over your face or just on your cheeks? I generally just use the Glow Enhancer on my cheeks. Went to an EL Counter on Fri -- love love love DW. I'm going to a MAC counter tomorrow and going to check out Stuiod Fix Fluid and compare. But at this stage DW is in the lead by a mile. I havent tried DW but pro lumiere is more a dewy finish (not matte at all) esp if you have oily skin. It has quite good coverage though. I think if u were to try it, winter would be the best time since its not hot. I make the most of winter by wearing a more dewy finish and also creme products! You should try to get a sample of the PL though. I find Chanel foundations to be too fragranced Answer: Hmm from reading MUA reviews I wont be getting my mum onto this because she doesnt have much of a clue about applying makeup so I think it'll be too hard for her to blend so it doesnt look cakey. She really has no idea the poor thing.. I am a NC40-43, Chanel 40ish and she would be an NW30, Chanel 20-30 and she uses all my foundations i dont like even though I tell her they are the wrong colour and beg her not to take them Answer: Originally Posted by lovedust I havent tried DW but pro lumiere is more a dewy finish (not matte at all) esp if you have oily skin. I find Chanel foundations to be too fragranced Thanks for the advice lovedust I don't have oily skin but I'm one of those people that feels the heat and gets sweaty really easily (and it makes my skin look/feel very oily) which is why I definitely prefer a matte, and long lasting foundation. I'm so scared of dewy, it looks nice on others but I'm terrified on me that dewy will translate to shiny. Maybe it's back to the old DW afterall. I've never really been the promiscuous type... I'm really interested in Px Flawless though too... arrgh!! I'm sure I'll be back at Terry White in the old plaza buying DW on Monday though, at least I know it'll work for me *sigh* Answer: Originally Posted by not my real name Thanks for the advice lovedust I don't have oily skin but I'm one of those people that feels the heat and gets sweaty really easily (and it makes my skin look/feel very oily) which is why I definitely prefer a matte, and long lasting foundation. I cant remember, but I bought it a few times so thats good news. Im always changing though. Actually I think i changed because I couldnt get a perfet colour match. Im pretty sure you would be fine though with your skintone. I imagine it to be very similar to DW Answer: Originally Posted by lovedust Hmm from reading MUA reviews I wont be getting my mum onto this because she doesnt have much of a clue about applying makeup so I think it'll be too hard for her to blend so it doesnt look cakey. It is something that needs to be worked with quite quickly. Doesn't set as quickly as Revlon Colorstay (which I had huge problems with) but it's still a race. Isn't it awkward when you can see people really obviously wearing the wrong foundation shade? It's the age-old to tell or not to tell issue. I don't know how to be diplomatic with these things so in most cases I keep quiet and tell myself that most normal non-makeup obsessed people wouldn't notice and I'm just a crazy person How dewy is the YSL brush foundation? Do YSL give samples? Um.. sorry to the original poster for taking over your thread, you can have it back now ETA: Thanks for the Flawless review lovedust - definitely one for me to check out Answer: Oh yep I was talking about DW. My mum really wouldnt be able to use it. Yeah wrong colour foundation is pretty frustrating! Its worse when people want you to colourmatch them incorrectly because they like to be paler or darker than they are YSL perfect touch isnt dewy at all imo. Its a matte finish but gives more of a healthy matte glow look due to the formulation (like TE) rather than because it is still moist. Coverage is light to medium. And YSL is the worst company for samples! They are only given some skincare but def no makeup unless they have a specific promotion like that new everlong mascara one they had a while ago Answer: I'm seriously considering trying Double Wear, but I gotta say my foundation is pretty good too ! I've been using L'Oreal Ideal Balance for ages and it stays on pretty well as well as offering good coverage. xoxox Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
