Bladder Infection?, help?!?!?
Question:
:D hi, i'm seeking for help in the fact that i'm having great pain in
my stomach  . The thing is that, it hurts like if it was a
bladder infection, but i am not getting any symptoms of it! other than
it hurts and stings alot. Other things that i've been feeling is that
when i need to use the bathroom, it hurts under the belly button right
about the ovaries area. Thus, everytime i eat, it hurts over the belly
button and there were 2 occasions where i had to hurl over all the
pain. Basicallly, it constantly hurts in the belly button area.
My parents tell me that it's a bladder infection and they called their
doctor  ; which the guy gave me some round red FAT pills that
i had to drink every 8 hours  . I already ate all 8 pills and
everyday i drink 8 ounces of water (or more) and a lotta  nasty
 cranberry juice. The only thing that I have noticed is that it
doesn't itch anymore :D BUT IT STILL HURTS  ! What should i do?
HELP!!!   P.S.: I can't go to the doctor because i
have no medicare whatso ever and my parents can't afford to take me...

Answer:
Hey Remisent, how are you doing? The infection may improve within a
couple of days, but 1 to 2 weeks of medication may be prescribed to
prevent a kidney infection. Most Urinary Tract Infections are treated
with trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (e.g., Bactrim, Cotrim, Septra),
amoxicillin (e.g., Amoxil, Trimox), or fluoroquinolones (e.g.,
Levaquin, Cipro). Urinary tract infections usually develop first
in the lower urinary tract (urethra, bladder) and, if not treated,
progress to the upper urinary tract (ureters, kidneys). Kidney
infection (pyelonephritis) requires urgent treatment and can lead to
reduced kidney function and possibly even death in untreated, severe
cases. Over-the-counter pain relievers (e.g., Tylenol, Advil) and
a heating pad may be used to relieve discomfort caused by UTI.
Drinking plenty of water helps to cleanse bacteria out of the urinary
tract. Coffee, alcohol, and smoking should be avoided. Women and
girls should wipe from front to back after voiding to prevent
contaminating the urethra with bacteria from the anal area. Avoid
products that may irritate the urethra (e.g., bubble bath, scented
feminine products). For excellent patient education resources,
visit eMedicine's Kidneys and Urinary System Center. Also, see
eMedicine's patient education articles Urinary Tract Infections and
Bladder Control Problems. Best wishes,

Answer:
What is itching? You may have a kidney infection, bladder infection,
stomach ulcer, or bacterial vaginal infection. They are doctoring you
over the phone? You need to be examined. If your parents cannot afford
to take you to the doctor, then have them (or someone) take you to
your local Health Department. They have nurses there who will help you
or direct you. You don't need to suffer like this.
