4months No Period Even after hormones from doctor
Question:
Hello, I am 21 years old, never been pregnant. I came to japan recently, had one period and then ran out of birth control which I took to manage irregularity/pain as well as for the intended purpose. I haven't seen my boyfriend since before coming to Japan so I am NOT pregnant, but after I ran out of pills I have not had a period since. I got more pills sent from home but have not been able to start taking them yet as I am meant to wait til the first day of bleeding. After 1 month I went to the gyno here, he said it was stress and to come back later. He also did a pregnancy test, negative. After 3 months I went to a different Female gyno, and she gave me a shot of hormones into my hip and said to expect a period in the next 10 days. When they didn't occur, I went back, and she gave me some hormone pills to take (one every night within 30 minutes of dinner for 10 days). Due to travelling I took one or two fairly late at night, but made sure I ate something first. My period still hasn't come. She also took 2 vials of blood and I go back in 6 days to get the results. A couple of times I have had what might be a very faint brown patch on my pad *I wear one just in case when out and about* but nothing very noticeable. Sometimes I feel like I have very minor cramps but that might be wishful thinking! I am on Ferrogradument iron supplements for iron deficiency from very mild Crohn's disease but that has been symptom-free since before all this started. I feel tired most days but that's nothing new either! Because of the language barrier and the fact that the gynos here seem to have a 5 minute limit on consultations, I don't know the names of what I've been given (Hormone Medication was the best answer I got). I would be very grateful for any advice Yrs E. Answer: Hey ellen, how are you doing? How long are you planning to be in Japan? Best wishes, The Prison Hospital Prisoner: Look here, doctor! Jokes Answer: Hey ellen, how are you doing? Have your doctor given you a complete physical and pelvic examination to identify the cause of your grandular malfunction (results in absence of menstruation)? This is usually accomplished by various tests - urine, thyroid function, basal metabolism, Pap smear, and maturation index. Sterility is checked by basal body temperature charts and a study is made of ovarian activity. Hormonal treatment is most frequently employed when the possibility of tumor has been eliminated.
