bump problem? ingrown hair?
Question:
i have this bump above my vaginal area on my skin near my leg. its
where i shave my bikini line but a little more inside. its sore and
its kinda big.i squeezed it thinking maybe it could be a pimple....ive
never had a pimple there so i thought it was odd and puss came out and
it wasnt like pimple puss....i dont think... and im pretty sure not
even the worst ingrown hairs could be pussy...could they? any ideas
what it is??

Answer:
Hey ???, how are you doing? An ingrown hair often heals on its own.
However, in the case of chronic ingrown hairs, treatment may include
allow the hair to grow longer, depilatory (to remove the hair), and
electrolysis (to remove the hair). The symptoms of an ingrown hair
may resemble other skin conditions. Always consult your physician for
a diagnosis. An ingrown hair is a hair that curls and penetrates
the skin with its tip, causing inflammation. Ingrown hairs are more
common among people with very curly hair. Best wishes,

I've had this problem before, too. It happened when I started working
out and would sweat a lot, and it was right in the area where the
elastic from my underwear was on my skin. Changing the type of
underwear I wore completely resolved the problem. I used to wear
silkier textured underwear. Now, it's only cotton undies for me!
Apparently, the cotton allows the skin to "breathe" better. Hope
this helps!

I have this same problem..(I think?). It just appeared out of nowhere
a few days ago. I'm guessing there is puss inside as well. If I pop it
will it go away? Forever? Or will it just grow back?

Answer:
If you are able to extract all of the pus out of it, then it may not
come back. Otherwise, it might. I don't know the size of it so it's
difficult to say. If it's small, pop it, extract the pus and put
some peroxide on it. Keep it covered with a bandaid. Keep using the
peroxide on it directly until it closes over.

Answer:
It sounds like it's time for you to see a doctor to have it drained. Sometimes, they will put you on an antibiotic and your cyst will go away for a time, but it will most likely return until it is removed. It is a simple procedure that either your general physician or a general surgeon can take care of. Usually, sebaceous cysts like these are incised, drained, (and packed with a medicated gauze when necessary). Then, after the infection has cleared, the cyst is completely removed (excised). If I were you, I'd choose the general surgeon since many GP's perform only incising and draining rather than excision (complete removal) so that would save you some money by having the charges of only the surgeon rather than paying fully for your doctor's service then being referred to the surgeon for a second fee.
