Heavy bleeding due to smoking?
Question:
Hi there I have a question.. I was having a very very heavy menstrual cycle.. It was bad, I bleed for 2 weeks, had sharp pains in belly and not to be gross or share TMI The blood was literally pouring out of me.. I went to the hospital and was examined, and they told me that it was due to smoking.. They put me on birth control and the bleeding slowed down and finally stopped!

Can anyone confirm that this is possible, due to smoking? I was smoking around a pack a day.. I was sure I was having a miscarriage..
Answer:
Yes, the E/R Physician could be right. Smoking can affect you in this way. You also should make an appointment with a gynecologist for a thorough exam to rule out any other possible problems or worries such as cysts or tumors.
