Sports related injury- should I worry?
Question:
I've had a rather... unique sports related injury for quite a while
now, and was wondering if I should be seeing a doctor. Years ago
(approximately 3-4) I practised Judo. One day while free sparring,
someone kicked me between the legs so hard that they lifted me about
3-6 inches off of the ground. When I hit the deck, I wasn't in pain,
but my crotch did feel funny. When I sat up, I felt my testicles pop
out of my body and back into my scrotum. Since then, I've developed
sort of a fold in my crotch. Whenver I'm hit in the nuts, one or both
of them will pop into my body and back out. When this happens, it
doesn't hurt or feel funny at all. Should I be worried about this?

Answer:
Even though your past injury is not really causing you any major
problems or pain at this time, it would be a good idea for you to see
a doctor (preferably a man) for an examination. This can rule out any
problems that may affect you in the future.

Answer:
Hey Guest, how are you doing? Scrotal ultrasound with Doppler
studies is particularly helpful in determining the nature and extent
of injury. Penetrating testicular trauma usually requires scrotal
exploration to determine the severity of testicular injury, to assess
the structural integrity of the testis, and to control intrascrotal
hemorrhage. Best wishes,
