Question:
Hi im 17 and for along time now ive had this soft, pink, moist skin by
my pubic area. it gets really irratated and itchy. and when I scratch
most of the time little flakes of skin fall. Another thing is that
right under the head of the penis theirs these little white things
that look like little little crusty bumbs but those dont bother. does
anyone know what this might be? and what I could do? Thanks

Hey theonefrom, how are you doing? Treatment depends on the
underlying cause, if identified, and on which micro-organisms are
present in the rash. A biopsy may be performed if the skin condition
is unusual or fails to respond to treatment. Candida infection
(candidiasis) can cause or aggravate intertrigo, an inflammatory rash
arising in body folds. However, candida may secondarily infect an
underlying skin disorder such as psoriasis. Bacteria may be treated
with topical antibiotics such as fusidic acid cream, mupirocin
ointment, or oral antibiotics such as flucloxacillin and erythromycin.
Yeasts and fungi may be treated with topical antifungals such as
clotrimazole and terbinafine cream or oral agents such as itraconazole
or terbinafine. Investigations may be necessary to determine the
cause of intertrigo. A swab for microscopy and culture of
micro-organisms (bacteria). Best wishes,
