Since testicular tumors often develop slowly and silently, an early symptom may simply be a sensation of discomfort resulting from weight of the tumor. A soft or hard mass can be felt in the scrotum and may present a dull scrotal ache or pain may be present.

Testicular tumors are associated with undecended testes, but it is not clear whether one causes the other or both are a result of hormonal imbalances. Although trauma is often claimed as an initial factor, it is difficult to determine whether the trauma simply called attention to a tumor already present.

If you choose to examine your testicles, you will become familiar with what is normal and what is different.
(ACS) recommends a testicular examination as part of a routine cancer-related checkup.
