Constipation
Question:
For the past few years I've had chronic constipation with gas and diarrhea. When I finally am able to go I have to go at least 3 to 4 times and the stool consists of little turds, powdery feces, blood and liquid. On the toilet paper there is blood and sometimes a puss like substance. I drink about 8 or more cups of water a day, I am athletic/exercise, and I eat the proper diet most of the time with fiber and the other recommended items. Can anyone help me out there, because this condition is seriously destroying my mentality and depressing me. Thanks
Answer:
CONSTIPATION OVERVIEW

Constipation is a common condition that affects mostly the very young and the aged. While the number of bowel movements is variable in the general population, a normal individual should have at least three per week, or, ideally, one daily.

THE DANGER

If constipation isn't treated promptly, it can be worried into another intestinal disease. When the condition is chronic, it may include nausea, stomach rumbling, appetite loss, and malaise.

TREATMENT/INTERVENTION

Treatment for constipation includes laxatives and enemas, a diet high in fiber, and adequate exercise. If these efforts fail, a doctor should be consulted to rule out causes such as drugs, diabetes, hypothyroidism, or colon problems.

CONCLUSION

Keeping well-exercised, avoiding invalidism, never ignoring the first urge to go to the stool, and making every effort not to be an overanxious mother can do much to avoid constipation. Following the advice of a good physician or following one's own good sense almost always mitigates constipation and restores evacuation.

Hope this helps out!
