height and steroids
Question:
I have read from many sources that steroids end the growth process
early. I have also read the windstrol (a form of steroid) has less
affect on height then other popular steroids such as deca. I am 18 and
5'9" and would like another 2 inches. My father is 6'1" but my mother
is 5'4". I have heard many stories of people growing their freshman
year in college and i am concerned that taking a cycle of steriods now
could diminish my chance of any additional height. If anyone can shead
any light or insight on this subject at all it would be greatly
appreachiated. JOE

Answer:
Hey joe33333, how are you doing? With the exception of Oxandrone,
all steroid compounds promote the closure of the epiphyseal plates,
which in turn discontinues bone growth. However, these drugs are
available legally only by prescription, to treat conditions that occur
when the body produces abnormally low amounts of testosterone, such as
delayed puberty and some types of impotence. Best wishes,

Answer:
thank you for the reply bkdaniels. Recently I did more research on the
subject and found an interesting article. You seem very informed and i
was wondering if you could tell me is there truth behind this or is it
propagnada? "Interestingly enough it is not the steroids
themselves, but the buildup of estrogen that causes the epiphyseal
plates to fuse. Women are shorter than men on average because of this
effect of estrogen, and likewise the use of steroids that readily
convert to estrogen can prematurely suppress/halt a person's growth.
In fact, the use of steroids like Anavar, Winstrol and Primobolan
(which do not convert to estrogen) can actually increase one's height
if taken during adolescence, as their anabolic effects will promote
the retention of calcium in the bones." Thanks again, Joe33333
