Recently I have discovered a small, hard lump between my scrotum and
anus. The lump is just under the surface of the skin and painful to
touch. No pain when using the bathroom. Any ideas? Thanks

number of things e.g. hemorroids, an abscess, or hernia. My best guess
is maybe an abcess to start. The characteristics of other disease
are far more revealing. If this is either one of the above listed,
then you should see a doctor anyway, even if the bump goes away. Just
as hemorroids, they should not be self treated, the ointment could
allow for the bump to go away, but the overall infection could still
exsit. The bump will only reappear. An abscess would be simular to
an abscess in a tooth, if you have seen one, it hurts when it is
touched and may even give a discharge of puss and blood. So careful
not to attempt to bust it.
