I touch and go there, nice beaches with seasports & hotels which is foreversoexpensive. things ain't cheap there, alot of caucasians.
for beach I recommend Phuket.. shopping I recommend Bangkok..

i just came back from the the full moon party. actualli the party isnt really at koh samui..its at a island off koh samui called koh phangan. the ferry ride was about 40mins n quite a number of ppl got sea sick. Its actualli quite similar to zoukout except the koh phangan beach is not man made nor miniature in size
My frens n me were like the 1% asians there...the rest were cacausians...mostly english.
The beach at koh phangan was really big n beautiful but unfortunately the full moon party was called off because 2 person drowned the night before cause they went swimming at 8pm in pitch black..wtf
Anyway the whole island (imagine an island of boat quay) partied till dawn n we caught the 1st ferry at 730am back to koh samui. Sad to say...i wasnt really impressed by the locals from koh samui n koh phangan generally. All seems so $$$$$$$$$$$ minded...keep trying to tok us $ here n der.
overall it was still fun...the overnight biking sessions around the island. A part of koh samui called Chawing is quite westernised n developed for the tourists..starbucks n such but there r da outskirts area which r less developed but equally fun.

9 yrs back i was there with charwin. think we captured a whole lot of crabs there n execute them.lol.. i dun think its nice there..puket was the best of the few places i went in Thaliand.

Alcohol and recreational activities there still @ cheap rate or had the price etc been jack up over the years? My friend told me that the Full moon party was @ the island itself, is he wrong abt it?

the only full moon party is at koh phangan which u have to take a ferry from koh samui
alcohol is still CHEAP
