Answer:

i went there last yr.. u can try xiangyang mkt. lots of cheap stuff for shopping. best to stay along nanjing road. its is like orchard rd, lots of food (cheap aijisen ramen) and highend boutiques. there is this shopping mall by spore captialand around the corner. can go to grand hyatt (across the river) for some hightea or drinks at night. very nice view!! not to be missed is the bund, or the shanghai tang hotel. the grand ole dame. u may consider going to the villages (outskirt of shanghai, take coach - get info from hotel) basicially this will be sightseeing..

Answer:

Was in the mist of planning a f&e trip to Shanghai next mth.
Quite worried about the culture and safety over there though... but netherless, very excited!

Answer:

xiangyang market close last mth...
apart from the market any ideas which other places for cheap shopping?

Answer:

yup, been there, but quite expensive, high stanard of living... try visit xiangyang mkt... lots of goodies and things 2 buy & makan...

Answer:

I've stayed there for a year... if you are going there for sightseeing... hmmm... there's nothing much to see... as for shopping... you can try Nanjing West Road, Huang Pi Nan Road, Nanjing East Road (Bu4 Xing2 Jie1)... Den you can try Dong3 Jia1 Du4 for tailor-made clothes... dirt cheap... I got a few suits there... each set for less than sgd100... There oso a lot of small shops near the Jing An Shi MRT... you can explore dat place...
As for makan... wootzz... a few MUZ go places...
1. Shintori @ 巨鹿路 805 ... the ambience there is great... and check out the toilet hahaha... damn cool... it was once featured on the Shi Zhi Lu Kou...
2. Lapis Lazuli @ 9 Dongping Road... the desert there... heavenly...
3. 枣子树 @ 卢湾区嵩山路77号... Vegetarian food... one of the best in Shanghai...
4. Bellagio aka 鹿港小镇... a few branches... i lost the namecard... dunno the exact address
5. South Beauty @ 881 Yan An... very very nice food... but price is damn steep... if you are lucky, you'll get to see some famous actress or actors there...
For the 5 places above... good food is guarantee but the price oso quite high ah... budden again... if u compare it to singapore standard... it's soso only lah...
can pm me if u wanna know more... got loads to share if anyone wans to know more about china hee...

Answer:
