You can try booking for a apartment, its much nicer than a hotel room and almost same price. The last I stayed was Hotel Villa located at Jln Ampang and surrounded by Foreign Embassies. Rate is around SGD120 - SGD150 per night for 4 person.
Go to Chinatown if you wanna get those pirated and cheap stuffs but quite messy, Timesquare Themepark for the roller coaster and you can shop there too, Sungei Wang to shop for better clothings and must try the dim sum restaurant. And there's a long stretch of night market near Timesquare. And go up the Petronas towers for the nice view.
Price range is quite cheap, SGD200 is enuff for 3 days trip, food pricing is half of SG even at restaurants. Take their LRT to get around.
