Here's the map of the route and the railway too.... i know the railway takes quite long~ about half a day from osaka to nagoya i remembered....

i went jap last yr, lotsa fun!
tokyo to osaka i'm not sure but i took express tokyo to kyoto, i vaguely rem it was ard 2 hrs per direction btw shinkasen got ultra, express and normal speed, dependent on how deep r yr pockets
and do try to grab a bento outside the train if u get hungry, its much cheaper,
i paid something like S$20-30 for a cold box of jappy bento and S$4 for a small paper cup of coffee, the type u can get for 30cents from vending machine type in train, only to discover there are similar versions at S$10-15 on the platform
their mrt map v v confusing if u r taking tokyo to osaka shinkasen likely u be taking from shinjuku station, the bloody station got more than 40 exits, and each brings u to a diff part of shinjuku, make sure u recce b4 going and NEVER be late, japanese dont kid abt timing
they only have waiting time of 30secs to 1 min at each long distance train stop X_x

my planned route is osaka to tokyo, maybe stopping at kyoto to see see look look a while~ for 2 hrs tat's quite fast eh~ planning to spend like 1 week there, so can't afford to spend much in the train. 3 types of speed eh? i guess normal can't be that slow ya.... budget tour la~ haha!

omg.... i calulating using the cheapest Tokaido Shinkansen service....
from shin-osaka to kyoto is 1300 yen, 18 bucks~ then kyoto to tokyo is 13000 yen, about 180 bucks....
think must budget more liao...

tokyo is a shopping haven w plenty of hot chicks
kyoto is full of beautiful historical sites do go to nara park and imperial palaces to take a look, v interesting
i opted for free and easy instead of package and it cost me nearly $3k to tour japan,hakone,kyoto
i almost had all my lunches from convenient store bentos
if budget is an issue, u hav to plan carefully
i suggest u go to the jtb authorized agency at taka to get their package, quite worth it

osaka got a lot of good stuff 2 eat... yeah!!
i love kyoto the most because there a lot of japanese castles and historical stuff...
i remember got i is Ninja castle where they train ninjas and shinobis...
tokyo try 2 be careful becoz very luan... i first time went there almost lost myself...
try 2 prepare $4K if possible...
