academy and federation the difference is how they allocate points when comes to compeition. acadeny punching got points, federation dun have. but i heard that federation punching also got points. i dunno. hmm.. also, academy is for either N.Korea or S.Korea, vice versa for federation. heh. Academy like no need to get junior black, straightaway is dan 1. heh. get it? haha! dunno how true, heard from my sir and friends. They have quite a few other differences too, i think. example, pattern, sparing.. etc.. heh.

i think academy is more all-rounded than federation cuz fed focuses mainly on kicks, but fed is the more accepted system in the world cuz the olympics uses fed.

9th dan can only be taken when u're 65... lol. its a 'Grandmaster' level
other then obaining a black belt, most instructors have half/a NCAP certificate to allow them to do coaching.. =)
