Hehe, I'm planning to get my 1st road bike soon, but I'm a little daunted by the prospect of getting one. Can anyone give me tips on choosing one? Stuff such as the frame fit, handlebar positioning and all . I'm looking for a cheap one mainly for commuting really, with the occasional touring, so I don't exactly need those high end ones like canondales or the like. Dun wan to run the risk of them being more obvious targets for thieves yar? I know that maybe I can't really afford to be too picky on the fitting since I won't be spending too much on it, but at least I'll know what to look out for.

ah never mind, I've kinda solved my problems. One piece of advice though, don't go to one of the bike shops near hougang mall (forgot the name) if anyone of you are planning to get a bike though.
That guy tried to cheat me 3 times. 2nd hand steel bike for $250, then brand new aluminium one for $350, before finally giving me a discount of $50 after i called his bluff. I can get a cheaper one from a much more reputable shop around 2km away though. Just have to wait a month or so till their supplier has stock of the frames.
