I do yoga but haven't tried pilates. I'm not sure how to describe Yoga, I'll try. Yoga basically is positions workout which incorporate with your breathing. I believe that's what most local studios teach. Different positions strengthen different body mucles. It also massage your internal organs when doing the postures. Yoga also consist of meditation, don't think local studios (maybe professional studios do) do that since one can meditate at home, waste of money. Perhaps you should visit

Based on what I know, pilates is good for those who have suffer for body injury, example back, limps, etc.

Pilates is suppossed to be a full body workout without the strain and stress of jogging etc etc...
Yoga is more of mind and body concept to use the inner force for well being. A bit like Tai Chi. There is a heated room yoga where you will do them in a room thats is heated. Interesting.
