The next coming of Pele
Question:
I got this video and comments off another site . There's this 9 year old brazilian kid there and he's really amazing. the video : Jean Carlos Chera weighs in at 77 pounds – well under half the weight of his idol, Ronaldinho. He is also almost one foot and a half inferior in height, to the player whose posters adorn his bedroom walls - quite literally, he looks up to the Barcelona superstar. Yet there's one simple explanation to this - he's only 9 years old! Anderson, as he is better known, is the Brazilian child prodigy whose phenomenal skills alerted the likes of FC Porto and Manchester United, causing a media circus in the process. Video footage of this minute figure, twisting and turning his way past much older boys (fourteen, sometimes fifteen year-olds) whilst playing for Associação Desportiva Atlética, spread rapidly since Argentinian newspaper Clarin publicized its existence on the Brazilian club's website. Ensuing interest in Anderson was huge. "Seven or eight European clubs have already contacted us to know more about Jean," said club president Adilson Batista Prado, shortly after the footage was released. "They want to know what he is all about, and I tell them he's a phenomenon, probably the best player to come out of Brazil." Despite the interest from overseas, it is Santos – the current Brazilian Champions and club with which the immortal Pelé blossomed into a mega-star - that head the queue for the trafficable starlet. Although Anderson is not permitted to sign a binding contract with the club, until he reaches the age of sixteen, he did agree to join Santos and was expected to renew his contract with the Peixe on a yearly basis. The club was set to relocate his family in the city of Santos - Brazil's largest port - and pay them an undisclosed fee for allowing Jean Carlos to train with their youth sides. However, the move was opposed by his existing team, and although negotiations are ongoing, Associação Desportiva Atlética insists that Anderson is still their player. Prado - who conceded that clubs from England, France, Germany and Portugal have made contact with him regarding Anderson - continued, "He keeps on surprising. Everybody who sees him play is fascinated." The 9-year-old even has his own website, which declares him as "The next coming of Pelé." Strong words indeed, but upon seeing Anderson in action it's evident why he is held is such altitudinous regard. His dribbling ability is exquisite. Not only does he possess an array of flicks and tricks which enable him to beat opponents, but he seems to have this rare ability, to effortlessly glide past defenders. It's no surprise that he is known by the complementary moniker of, "The Maradona of the Adap" (the initials of his club side). Another attribute that Anderson boasts is the astounding power which he can generate from his left foot. He appears equally capable of scoring goals with thunderous shots from distance, as he does precision curling ones. Never in the history of the sport has one so young, been surrounded by such king-size hype. Yet all who have seen Anderson's breathtaking ability concur; one day, Anderson will fulfil the enormous potential he has, and become one of world football's finest players.
