Class, substance, magic
Question:
Once again Ricardo Kaka has lit-up the San Siro and got Milan’s Champions League challenge off to a winning start. He did much the same thing on Saturday when the talented young Brazilian came on and left his mark to help the Rossoneri to their first three points of the Serie A season. On Tuesday evening, it was two wonderful finishes that did the trick as he produced the mark of a real world-class player. The first came after Andrea Pirlo had neatly back-heeled the ball into his path for Kaka to control and then strike an unstoppable low shot into the corner of the net. The second was a trademark turn and burst of speed before cutting through the defence and dispatching the ball under the keeper’s body. In his third season in Italian football, Kaka is maturing and demonstrating his personality. For the second time in four days he has raised his arms to the sky to celebrate before beating his chest to receive the acclaim of the San Siro public. 'Let’s get to the final and take this Cup,' was his battle-cry on the eve of the encounter against the Turkish side. It just shows how much he wants to bounce back after the great disappointment of Istanbul - and the only way to do that is by winning. The ice has been broken on the long road to Paris and already destiny has played its part by putting a Turkish team in front of Milan in the opening encounter. Where better than the first game to lay the ghosts of the past to rest. And it’s thanks to the team and all the players but special thanks to Kaka and the Golden Ball winner, Andriy Shevchenko who netted the third in the final minute.
