Match take 2...
Question:
English Premier League Manchester United 2-0 Arsenal Juan Sebestian Veron 22nd min, Paul Scholes 73 Steve Bruce talked about his six pointer matches earlier. But seriously, nobody cared. Because, this is the six pointers more people are more concerned about -- matches against L'pool & Arsenal...in the space of 7 days. They did it. All six points were won. But what was more significant was that, Manchester United are back in the title race, which was blow open. By the way Steve Bruce could only won 1 of the 2 matches, just in case u wanna know. At Anfield, Man Utd finished off L'pool, thanks no small part to Jerzy Dudek. First leg was completed with a stroke of kuck. So lucky, one would have thought, & thus assumed that their luck would run out against a rampant Arsenal. Wrong. Not only did their luck continued, their confident grew by heaps as well. Revenge was perhaps the thought that drove Man Utd on, with so much zest and will to run for every ball. The home team did have some early scares, when Thierry Henry ghousted through the Man Utd backline to meet a long punt forward from Luzhny. But his shot while 1-on-1 wif Barthez was saved by his fellow french team colleague. But it was Gary Neville's blatant mistake that have allowed this chance in the 1st place with his child-like positioning. Even Barthez had a go at him. Then Pires & Henry linked together the move of the half to produce a world class save from Barthez again. A double 1-2 saw Pires found an angle to fire & he promptly tried to lob Barthez with a superb shot. Bathez produced a fine finger-tip save to deny him. From then on, it's very much Man Utd's show. Even Ruud Van Nistelrooij managed to register his first ever shot against Arsenal. On the 22nd min, Man Utd drew first blood. Cygan was the culprit this time. His lazy pass was headed down towards Van Nistelrroij. The came the double controveries that led to the goal. Van Nistelrroij appeared to have handled the ball, before controlling it, and puts it through to Paul Scholes, who looked offside. Neither fouls were punished, so they went on to do the punishment. Scholes squared the ball to Veron, who just needed to put a leg out to divert the excellent ball in. The 2nd goal though, was nothing foul. Again, Van Nistelrooij holds up the ball well this time, and lays it to a onrushing Paul Scholes. The red haired devil's first touch was good, steering the ball pass behind Keown, before firing it across the goal. The thing was, Keown stretched to stick out a leg to deflect the ball into the near post, past the wrong diving Stuart Taylor. It was clearly a great contrast of luck as well, besides the difference in performance, on show. Besides all those, Arsenal dropped into keeper crisis as Rami Shaaban, replcement for the injured David Seaman, had to limp off after staining his thighs mid way through the first half. 21 yr-old Stuart Taylor had to come on, and did a pretty fine job. More than anithing else, this has begin to look like Man Utd are beginning to pull their acts together, and once again get really involved in the title race. but can't they last? I don't know. But i hope not. Not because Man Utd has got a lousy team. THey realli have a very gd team. But anione who saw Sir Alex's cocky face and attitude after the Arsenal match would agree that it's not a nice face that they'll wanna be seeing again( He actually shoulder barged Robert Pires after the match, the way ah bengs do to each other, without even blinkin an eye!) So pls....Tottenham can win the title, Chelsea can. But not Man Utd pls....or at least not SIR ALEX'S Man Utd pls... Cheers. Comments are welcome.
