Where can I learn to be a dog groomer?
Question:

Hi all,

Ive been thinking about what i would really like to do as ajob and i would love to be a part time dog groomer.

Now i know it will take a fair while to train which is fine by me, but the problem is i need to train after work as there is no a snowflake in hells chance my boss would let me train during work hours,,,,

So i just wondered if anyone knew the best way to train outside of work hours part time?

Don't they have any weekend courses now?
I was doing small animal care, on a Saturday, and they had a grooming class once a fortnight, and also a behaviour class once a month

shall call and find out......

Answer:

I'm starting my 3 year apprenticeship as a groomer this August (its a swiss thing you learn everything as an apprentice, for usually 3-4 years) and I'd suggest that if you could do it.

Failing that, try to ask a groomer if you could spend a week as a bather and just watch and see what the job is really like. Usually dirty, smelly, and hard on your back but pleasurable!!! I love it

Good luck!!!
