Dear Genkians,
A point to pass on to everyone using the Pets Nation section.
NO SALE OF PETS is allow in here. Genkians who continue trying to sell pets will not be tolerated. We are a humanitarian community who do not practise such unethical perspectives. If you want to sell, approach a shop instead of posting online!
Point to Note: In Singapore, Selling or Keeping Of Exotic Animals without a valid licence is banned in Singapore. Especially during SARS period. Persons who are found selling or even keeping are liable to be charged under the Law.
Quoted from the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) Singapore:
Under the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act, anyone who illegally imports or is in possession of illegally imported Cites species can be fined up to $5,000 per species and/or jailed up to one year.
For keeping wildlife without a licence, the offender can be charged under the Wild Animals and Birds Act and fined up to $1,000 per animal.
If the public has information on any person keeping exotic pets, please contact AVA at 6227-0670 or email
For your info, CITES refers to:
CONVENTION ON INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN ENDANGERED SPECIES OF WILD FAUNA AND FLORA
It is an international agreement and Singapore is part of it to ensure that trade does not threaten wildlife species with extinction.
