I keep dogs, rabbits and hamsters. 4 dogs, 2 rabbits and 2 hamsters.
Benefits.. hmmm... they keep us accompanied. but we gotta accompany them too. Keep them do increase my responsiblity and burden in $$ wise.. but i dont mind.. They are just my brothers and sisters, and sons and daughters... They have feeling too.
Though alot of ppl are keeping pets nowadays. Some are just implusive buy. You can actually see it from the rehoming and abandone rate. Lots of dogs are lost nowadays.. some are actually being abandoned.
One should learn more about the animals, eg the breed, the characters, ways of taking care of it..etc, before buying one.

in my house now.. there are.. 2 turtles, 7 birds, 3 fishes.. used to have two rabbits which gave birth to 6 babies.. bud all were eventually given away when they grew up.. not enuff space for them to hop..

=) i did breed some spp, namely the peociloteria and avicularia versicolour. tried the crawshayi but failed lol. the bbs some traded off with fellow local experienced traders and the rest sent back to the owner of the male adult as part of the breeding project contract.
spp? will be hard to name all the spp i keep but the genus is possible.
kept the common avics and brachypelmas to tmy favourite King Baboon (C.Crawshayi). got some rare stuff from germany traders like the peociloterias (indian ornamatels) and Xenethesis spp. all come and go.

I keep a tank of fishes ... Many many many fishes in there ... Got koi, koi-type goldfishes, silver dollars, silver gourami, black tetras, ????er fish, colydorus, tiger barbs, golden tetras, Green tiger barb, catfish, tiger lobster, blue lobster, zebra fish, rainbow crabs, small goldfishes acting as feeders for my 02 x turtles ...
Mine are turtles, not terrapins ... & they don't stink, don't understand why some people insist turtles stink ... I have one Fly River Turtle aka PNT( Pig Nosed Turtle ) and one Long-Necked Turtle.

Normal 2 Feet Tank c/w Light & Overhead Filter System = $45. Haha ... That's where you are wrong ... The only preys in my tanks are my turtles ... Basically all my fishes in my tanks are for my turtles to eat , that is if the turtles can catch them ... Lobsters clears the bottom of the tank of food ... Goldfishes and turtles are very messy eaters ... I will pour in 24 feeder goldfishes into the tank every sunday, be it they finish eating the rest already or not ...
