Bad Combination?
Question:
  Hi all,
New here... looks like a cool place. I didn't really know where to put my question but I guess it could go here. I take Synthroid at 300mcg once a day and Atenolol at 50MG once a day. I take them both at the same time because I have a problem remembering to take them and I remember better when I take them at the same time. Is this a bad combination though? I'm I canceling one of them out by doing this? Any advise would be awesome!

Thanks all, and take care.

Answer:
Initially, Synthroid should be taken 4 hours apart from drugs that are known to interfere with its absorption and as a Precaution. Many drugs affect thyroid hormone pharmacokinetics and metabolism (e.g., absorption, synthesis, secretion, catabolism, protein binding, and target tissue response) and may alter the therapeutic response to
SYNTHROID.

However, there is no reported drug reaction(s) between the two drugs (beta-blocker and thyroid hormones). Nevertheless, you should discuss this matter with your doctor because all drug and/or laboratory interactions are not listed.

Hope this answers your question!
