scratch won't heal
Question:
I've had a small scratch right in the center of my nose for several
months. It's the size of a pinhead. I got the scratch while playing
with my dog. Just when it starts to appear to heal, I wake up to find
it bleeding again. I've tried putting a band aid over it, liquid
bandage, creams...you name it. It's nearing a year now. Is this the
sign of a bigger problem? I'm a healthy female in my 30's..but there
is a history of skin cancer in my family.

Answer:
Hey frustrated, how are you doing? Any skin change that does not
heal promptly or properly should be brought to the physician's
attention. Skin cancers usually occur where they are easily seen; they
are not hard to reconize as something out of the ordinary; and people
usually see their Physician in plenty of time. People who have a
lower DNA repair capacity are at increased risk for melanoma skin
cancer, according to a new study by scientists at The University of
Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Those with lower DNA repair
capacity tended also to be those with fair skin, light hair, and eye
color. Best wishes,

Answer:
I agree with hemanm - this is good advice.

Answer:
I have to agree with the others. You should seek medical help, especially given your history and the fact that it has not healed in a year's time.
