HEART MED. ALERT
Question:
ANYONE TAKING TAMBOCOR SHOULD SEE THEIR CARDIOLOGIST IMMEDIATELY AND GET OFF THIS DRUG!!! MY HUSBAND, 45 YRS.OLD, DIED AUG. 16, 2004 BECAUSE IT BECAME TOXIC IN HIS SYSTEM. THE PDR (PHYSICIAN'S DESK REFERENCE) WARNS OF THIS, BUT "THE STANDARD OF CARE" IS NOT TO DO SO. ACCORDING TO MY HUSBAND'S CARDIOLOGIST THERE ARE ONLY4 OR 5 LABS IN THE COUNTRY EQUIPTED FOR SUCH TEST. I'VE SPENT MANY MANY HOURS OVER THE PAST 10 MONTHS RESEARCHING THIS DRUG. THOMAS J. MOORE WENT AS FAR AS TO WRITE A BOOK ABOUT THIS, DEADLY MEDICINE, WHY TENS OF THOUSANDS OF HEART PATIENTS DIED IN AMERICA'S WORST DRUG DISASTER. THE BOOK WAS PUBLISHED IN 1995 AND VANISHED FROM THE SHELFS JUST ONE YEAR LATER. I HAVE FOUND 3 COPIES ON AMAZON.COM AND PURCHASED THE. I AM USING THEM TO HELP INFORM LOCAL DOCTORS AND OTHERS OF HOW THIS DRUG EVER MADE IT THROUGH THE FDA AND HOW DANGEROUS IT IS. MY HUSBAND'S CARDIOLOGIST WAS STUNNED AT THE INFORMATION I'VE DUG UP ON TAMBOCOR. TAMBOCOR WAS APPROVED IN 1978, WITHOUT COMPLETED CLINICAL STUDIES TO PROVE THE BENEFITS OUT WEIGH THE RISK!!! STILL TO THIS DAY THAT HASN'T BEEN PROVEN. THE STUDIES HAVE STOPPED!! PEOPLE ARE STILL DYING!! NO MORE RESEARCH!! WHY? BECAUSE THE DOCTORS STILL PRESCRIBE IT, PATIENTS STILL TAKE IT....... IF IT DOESN'T KILL THEM. HOW MANY OTHER DRUGS ARE OUT THERE DOING THE SAME THING? HOW MANY DRUGS ARE INVOLVED IN LAW SUITS NOW? HAVE YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW GOTTEN SICKER OR DEVELOPED OTHER HEALTH PROBLEMS FROM A DRUG? WHILE WE JUGGLE BILLS TO PAY FOR MEDICATION, OUR ELDERLY IN THE GOOD OLE U.S.A. ARE DOING WITHOUT FOOD AND/OR ELECTRICITY TO PAY FOR HIGH PRICE DRUGS. (IF THEY CAN EVEN AFFORD THEM THEN...) I READ A REPORT LAST WEEK STATING THAT THE CEO OF, BRISTOL MEYERS, MADE OVER $74,000,000.00 YES!!! $74,000,000.00 IN 2002!!! ( HIS STOCK SHARES WERE ALMOST EQUAL) FOLKS WE HAVE TO TAKE A STAND!!! I'M WORKING ON A CAMPAIGN,,,,,"SAY NO TO PHARMA". THE GOAL IS TO INFORM THE PUBLIC OF THE DANGERS OF THIS DRUG AND OTHERS, TO EXPOSE THE DRUG COMPANIES,THE FDA AND OUR GOVERNMENT FOR WHAT THEY ARE/OR AREN'T. AS YOU CAN GUESS, IT'S VERY TIME CONSUMING. IT WILL TAKE ME LONGER THAN I HAD FIRST INVISIONED. THAT'S WHY I HAVE STARTED THE POSTING AND EMAILS. I FEEL I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING NOW TO GET THE WORD OUT. SO, PLEASE IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW IS TAKING TAMBOCOR GET TO YOUR DOCOTR AND GET OFF OF IT!!! I WILL BE GLAD TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS, SHARE MY HUSBAND'S UPS AND DOWNS, AS WELL AS, MORE DETAILS ABOUT MY RESEARCH. YOUR STORIES AND COMMENTS ARE WELCOME. Irwin Mitchell has an established reputation for effective representation of claimants in this field and a clear understanding of the legal complexities involved. Liability for defective drugs is strict, meaning that if a product is not as safe as consumers are generally entitled to expect, then the manufacturer is responsible whether or not they acted negligently. It is important that your doctor check your progress at regular visits to make sure the medicine is working properly and report all side effects. This will allow for changes to be made in the amount of medicine you are taking, if necessary. Follow your doctor's orders or the directions on the label. Do not take more medicine than ordered. There is a recognized responsibility of manufacturers to produce and market drugs that are safe for use by consumers. Pharmaceuticals must also be approved by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA) before being sold to the public. However, despite these safeguards even approved drugs can sometimes cause harmful side effects. Amongst other things they can be liable for non-adequate testing of a product or for failing to provide clear and comprehensive instructions for use of a drug. This can result in serious injury or even death. The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of a drug. Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems - especially. REFERENCES Irwin Mitchell - Flecainide (Systematic) Best wishes, The Prison Hospital Prisoner: Look here, doctor! You've already removed my spleen, tonsils, adenoids, and one of my kidneys. I only came to see if you could get me out of this place! Doctor: I am, bit by bit. Answer: Thank you for your information. But I do have some questions. How does a medication such as Tambocor remain on the market when it's been a proven killer for years? I'm sure someone before me has asked the same question. How did all these drugs that are on the slate now ever get approved? If there are laws out there to "protect" the public then why aren't they protecting us? Instead of making us sicker with their side effects or in my husbands case kill?
