What to do if you can't afford a doctor
Question:
I have no money for a doctor but I really want to go. Everyone always says go see a doctor but I don't have the money. It makes me sad because what if there was something a doctor could do and I just can't afford it. The last time I saw a doctor was when I was a kid 5 or so. And even if I could get different things evaluated for free I'd still have to pay for prescriptions and such. I try not to get stressed out about it because stress lowers your immune system but what if there is something wrong with me and it gets more serious.

If you have not, yet, been diagnosed with a disease, you may qualify for a Health Insurance Policy. However, you may ask the expert by contacting the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.).

As a last resort, Federal law gives you the right to emergency care, regardless of your ability to pay. In a nutshell, the federal patient-dumping law entitles you to three things: screening, emergency care and appropriate transfers during. (MSN Money: Know your Emergency Room Rights)

Prisoner: Look here, doctor! You've already removed my spleen, tonsils, adenoids, and one of my kidneys. I only came to see if you could get me out of this place!

Doctor: I am, bit by bit.
