Welcome to Health Dialogue !!!

Am I okay?
Question:
I have been trying to self treat my eye, how would I know if what I was doing was working?

Answer:
Count the cost. Never be ignorant
of the strength of the enemy.
Better to over-estimate than to
under-estimate. (Moral)

Hey Guest, how are you doing?

For an excellent patient education resource, visit eMedicine's Eye and Vision Center. In general, if you have eye pain (as burning, sharp, dull, gritty, "something in my eye," aching, throbbing, or stabbing), seek advice from an ophthalmologist. (Skow When to Seek Medical Care) (Victor, Adams 100)

Ophthalmologists are expert in eye disease and eye surgery. Disease of the eyes and ears, by virtue of their frequency, unusual nature, and serious consequences, make up seperate medical specialities and, therefore, fall outside the field of internal medicine. (Victor, Adams 100)

Since the eye is the organ of vision, it is obvious that degrees of impairment of visual acuity to the point of blindness should stand as one of the most frequent symptoms of eye disease. Strabismus (squint) and diplopia (double vision), ocular pain (of or relating to the eye), irritation, redness and photophobia (intolerance to light), inability to read or recognize objects and people, and drooping or closure of the eyelids are of lesser importance. (Victor, Adams 100)

Because of the specialized nature of eye examination equipment, most eye problems are usually handled best in your ophthalmologist's office. Many emergency departments also has the necessary eye equipment, your ophthalmologist may see you in the emergency department after hours to evaluate you case. (Skow When to Seek Medical Care)

Best wishes,

Prisoner: Look here, doctor! You've already removed my spleen, tonsils, adenoids, and one of my kidneys. I only came to see if you could get me out of this place!

Doctor: I am, bit by bit.

Answer:
What is the problem with your eye and what steps are you taking to treat yourself?

Answer:
Before you self-treat, you need to research what has worked for others in similar situations, and you need to carefully examine your own symptoms, or get a diagnosis from a licensed physician. Then if he or she has given you a diagnosis, but is not able to help your condition, you have every reason to seek out a remedy that works for you. Go into an internet website and research your condition and the diagnosis given you by the doctor. Be smart, and realize that if it can't be patented because its natural and not synthetic, the pharmacy probably won't carry it. (The price tag is too low to be worth the trouble.) This is the key to alternative medicine. Most of it is natural and low cost...there are many alternatives that are used for eyes, colloidal silver being the easiest to use (it was the silver gel doctors used to use for newborn babies to prevent a transferable disease from the mother)...but guess what!!? It's a mineral! A natural product, so it can't get a patent..get the picture...? Zappers are in the new electomagnetic paradigm..here's something about them.."... Any positively offset [DC] frequency kills all bacteria, viruses and parasites simultaneously given sufficient voltage (5 to 10 volts), duration (seven minutes), and frequency (anything from 10 Hz to 500'000 Hz)."
Good luck with your eyes. Alessa

Answer:
well..eye is a precious thing. I think it would be better to contact an eye specialist rather then trying to find a cure yourself.

Answer:
I agree,
You must consult an eye specialist instead of trying something on your own. Eyes are precious and must be handled with full care.
