blackouts AND dizziness
Question:
my name is Stephanie Parent. My boyfriend has been increasingly over
the past few mths suffering. When he stands he can only lean his head
back to a certain place, if he passes that point he blacks out and
finds himself on the floor seconds later. Not knowing how how got
there(on the floor). When these symptoms first began, there was little
or no dizziness. Now the dizziness is increasing as well as the
sensitiveity of the blackouts. Please any help or direction would be
greatly appreciated.

Answer:
Hey stephy01836@aol.com, how are you doing? The patient with heart
block must always avoid sudden movements or abrupt changes in
position. The only effective procedure is the surgical implantation of
a pacemaker, which is a small battery powered gadget implanted in the
body that controls the heartbeat by a serie of electrical impulses.
In heart block the impulse that governs the beat has been deranged,
like a blocked electric wire. As a result, the ventricles, the main
chambers of the heart, beat at a slow rate, usually less that 50 beats
per minute. Heart block may occur in any form of chronic heart
disease. All dizziness with loss of consciousness needs emergency
evaluation. Call an ambulance unless you are certain of the cause of
the dizziness, or unless the feeling goes away quickly. Best
wishes,
