Psylence Gym Diary
Question:
Recently, i've started going to the gym in a hope i can achieve better confidence and body. Lets not even talk about working out yet? Stepping into the GYM proves intimidating enough for rookies like me to draw back in bewildered fear. It plunges our meagre confidence that had once gave us the initial idea of gyming and prevents us from achieving our dream of better bodies. The excessive self-pity sets in, instilling the feeling that we're going to be skinny/fat forever beyond redemption. Bummer.
That very fact however, turned the tide around and i made my mind up. It's now or never. I decided to put on my invisible blindfold and tip-toed to the weight-lifting section in hope i'm as invisible as that illusionary cloth I'm wearing around my head. No such luck. Thanks to the celing to floor mirror across the room that are installed in all gyms in the world for people to stare at their muscles, or lack there of. It heightened my fear of scrutiny. No matter, I'll just avoid looking at it, maybe, it'll disappear.
My instructor instructed(but of course) me to do my warm-ups before we begin my journey to being a hunk. I gave a blank stare. He gave me a sigh of ridiculed despair. O great, now i feel so much better.
Painstakingly, he guided me through the whole process and then we proceeded to judgement day...

I don't know about you, but this looked as scary as when i was doing my E Maths O'level preliminary examination paper and got stumped over by unknown digits and formulas. God please save me.
My instructor brought me into the middle of the weights stand and gave me the smallest weights ever and asked me if it's too heavy for me. I gave a bitter smile and held back bruised integrity. No pain, no gain right? Urgh...
We started to do some simple exercises. We began with standing curls. Pretty easy, i smiled to myself.
After the third set of 10 repetitions, i smiled from the involuntary facial contraction and believe me, no part of it was heart-felt. I barely managed to finish it, even with the aid my instructor gave me by supporting most of the weight. Finally, I know now, how much i lack in the fitness quota. I'm way down rock bottom and already sinking into the further grounds down to hell. It would take a miracle to lift me way up high where Mr Hercules is. Damn.

Aside from that, i've learnt about nutrition intake and diet control. I kept to it dutifully and had gratefully from the first session till now, gained 4kg. CHEERS!
Currently, my body is aching like full-scale body chronic disease. I try to close my eyes and imagine, me, the hunk that everyone admires in the near and very possible future, at every movement when my joint aches...which is just about all the time.
At this point, i feel like punching "hunk-that-i-am-to-be" for causing me so much pain. *Crack knuckles*
Ouch. T.T
