if you cant jog 3km start with less. 2km and slowly increase. The thing is to keep pushing yourself, don't ever stop and walk, just keep pushing your legs to keep jogging.

eh, no leh. u should try the desired distance at a comfortable pace first then slowly increase your pace over a few sessions. this is advice for those just starting out from some magazine for runners. but ya, u have to make sure u go all the way ba.

must control it and not let go of it, so that u wun gasp for air.

a few things need to note
1) warm up properly
2) min 7 hours of sleep the night before
3) drink 1 hour b/4 , so that you won't dehydrate , and if you can sip during the run and drink against after u cooldown
4) adopt comfortable posture , dun slouch bend foward when you run
5) enjoy the run , know that you are alive when you run.

actually the essence of going long distance comes with breathing and pacing...
no point going at a speed of 100km/hr but ur heart cant take it need to grasp for air...
u would need to control ur pacing...pace urself probably ard 10km would take u 60 mins? breathing needs to control in, out steadily

breathing tru the mouth causes you to dehydrate faster , but for the last few hundred metres , gives you more o2 to run
so breathe tru nose is recommanded
unless of cos you are already a strong swimmer who breathes tru mouth

hmm...but u lose less water if u breath through nose, so bo pian, better get used to it. must have systematic breathing ba. and please remember to stretch as u cool down or else u will feel pain all over the next day.

so previously its veh tough for me to go long distance
but for me i start with real slow jog
reallllllllllll slow. like faster then walking abit.
then i run like for 30 min
as days pass
u feel u can run faster without bring out of breathe so easily
