Answer:

sustained thigh muslce injury due to sports activity.
Anyone knows how to treat Vastus medialis cramp? been going on for quite a few weeks already~

Answer:

Vastus medialis is one of the 4 muscles that made up quadriceps. It is positioned juz above your knee patella, n inner part of ur upper leg. wat u r having is a vastus medialis strain. To tell u the truth, there r 3 degree of strains on muscles...but i guess i'll juz skip that....hope that it's only a 1st degree strain.
The most common treatment to ani muscle strains is R.I.C.E. .Resting,Icing,Compression & Elevation. for the 1st 3-5 days, REST ur quads in an ELEVATED position, with ICING to take place for 20mins every 2 hrs interval. COMPRESSION means to bandage up ur strained quads. All these r to reduce swelling n bleeding of the muscle tissues.
With proper treatment & rehablitation, it shd heal within 3 weeks...1st degree strain that is.
Hey buddy,if u think u have 2nd or 3rd degree strain, pls go see a sports doctor now. It can be treated with the usuall procedure plus messaging n ultrasound treatment. If worse,u might need a surgurey to repair the tear for 3rd degree strain.
Cheers n merry x'mas everyone!!

Answer:

aiyah i shall put it in simpler form lar
REST & ICEING
all u need to do is rest ur injury...do not do anything strenuous...let the pain subside...do not for the 1st few days keep iceing till it turns red and numb okok
HEAT THERAPHY
then after tt go to OSIM buy this heat pack...big wan green colour cost less than $20...and apply heat to the injury...do this for long enuff until red and numb again...repeat this once in a while when u are free maybe 3 4 times in a day lar
after couple of wks...go to the swimming pool...remember to stretch before entering water BUT!!!!! do not strain ur injury or over stretch...when u feel pain STOP!!! DO NOT cont stretching...go to the medium pool and walk around the place slowly...when u feel pain stop gradually and stand there for a while before trying to walk back to sit down...
u can do half squats very slowly in the water too and some kicking excercise...ALWAYS REMEMBER WHEN U FEEL PAIN STOP GRADUALLY
go home apply the heat pack again after ur excercise
THE LAST RESORT IF U CANNOT RECOVER AFTER A LONG TIME
go to Singapore Sports Council to see the physio there if u are still schooling try to get a letter from ur PE teacher
or sports' incharge...u can go to tan tok seng hospital for the physio too

Answer:

Ya...i heard SGH or NUH has oso opened a sports injury department, maybe u can check it out....
If u wanna book a session with SSC's medical centre at National Stadium, the tel no is 63409682. REMEMBER to tell them ur injury is so serious that u cannot walk, otherwise they will drag ur booking back so long ur injury would have recovered itself...lolx...
I'm not so sure about the cost though...i went as a FAS Centre of Excellence player and was only charge $7 for the consultation, and $4 for each physio session. But the fees was in the end still absorbed by my club la...i heard normal outgoing patient are paying $27 for the consultation...zoom,do u noe abt it?can clarify that?

Answer:

i said it earlier wat
