Do you take creatine ?

I've never tried it but from what I've just read at bodybuilding.com, creatine is needed and recommended for gaining muscle mass. Does anyone out there take creatine ? Answer: from what i know it isn't good for fitness. It's for people who want to show. Answer: Creatine repairs your muscles faster, resulting in better workouts. Isn't that good ? Answer: hmm.. u may wanna think again.. Answer: Care to elaborate ? Answer: I took creatine.... I had a hard time finishing the 1000g my friends sold to me.... cos 1 serving is only 5 g.... Creatine won't make you so sore the next day.... It lets you have more energy, and it pump all the water to your muscle make it fuller and rounder.... You need to drink alot of water so as to replenish other parts of your body.... Creatine make you bloated for a few hours... Answer: Oh, and I heard that creatine tastes like shit. Even worse than protein, is it true ? Answer: Bro i think u must be refering to the creatine monohydrate in the market now. Ok this is my take on that supplement IMHO. Ppl out there, IF u sell supplements or am presently taking it now, by all means. To each his own, dun frame me hor! Energy System Many cellular processes require energy. Creatine Phosphate( Part of substance within Creatine Monohydrate) Muscle cells use this phosphorylated form of creatine to store energy. Normal metabolism can not produce energy as quickly as a muscle cell can use it, so an extra storage source is needed. The phosphate group can be quickly transferred to ADP to regenerate the ATP necessary for muscle contractions. This Creatine Phosphate is used for exercises that last from 0 to 60 secs, resistance training per set is usually among that time frame. Therefore, makers of Creatine Supplements have you believe that in taking additional Creatine Monohydrate supplements you will perform better in your workout. Sounds too good to be true? But think again. Your body naturally stores and has creatine phosphate. Therefore it has the ablilty to produce creatine phosphate. These are the 2 main questions that held me back: 1) Since creatine phosphate is a natural chemical produced by the body, how good can the body absorb artifical ones? 2) Will the ability to produce this naturally formed substance be impaired after prolonged usage of artificial ones? Answer: how good your body can absorb really depends on the individual. there are known to be creatine non-responders. the body can produe its own creatine but it may not be at the optimal lvl your muscles can hold hence the supps. for me i have cycled creatine for a year and its been really good. creatine to me is tasteless. jus mix it in whatever u like to drink. one thing to note that a lot of weight gained during intake of creatine is water so dun be too happy that u r gaining. Answer: hey cant we just body build without taking such supplements?maybe diet wise can adjust but the supplements are not really a muzt right? Answer: Yes, IMHO. I am not into supplements. Just hard work. Anyway, must enjoy yourself lar! Answer: can build without supplements.. just supplements are there to help.. =/ i can't take milk, so i have whey protein instead.. quite tasty.. lol. Answer: Whey protein is derived from milk, I think. And I think that the taste sucks big time, haha. Answer: issit? i read the ingredients no lactose lei.. my trainer ask me to take.. so many flavours.. haha. i like the choc mint one xD Answer: Creatine is tasteless, even if you mix with plain water , there is no taste at all.....but you will feel alittle bit chalky cos creatine is not rely that soluble.... Whey is cheese by products Try On Whey, it tastes great.... Answer: hmm.. seems like lotsa folks here are on supplements.. IMHO i will rather spend my $ on other things The only stuff i buy are the protein bars when i need a 'quick' fix! Answer: whey is chemically processed from milk, or other dairy products. one reason why i don't consider taking creatine at all - Let's say u are a country. You borrow power from a source outside to develop and power your city. And it does help, your city grows without problems, until it looks magnificent. So u can imagine the consequences when this power source is finally cut off and u have to rely on your own. Ok I dunno if that explanation helps, but that's my take on it. Answer: yes i agree with olunnd..dun be too dependant on creatine for a strength boost..it does help you temporary,but wont help you in the long run
