Answer:

this is sad ~~ y ppl will be guinea pig?? coz of the good pay in exchange for health ??? cannot understand

Answer:

some of them are already sick and just want to be part of the test because maybe they will be cured.

Answer:

clinical trial, they pay you to take their medication or treatments and do tests on you
typically you shouldnt suffer any ill effects
and yes xmm we live in a strange world

Answer:

slimboyfat: oook this is consider reasonable ~~
rabbit: typically lol ~~ will they inform u of the possible after effect if it fails to work ?

Answer:

I tot CGH have many people complaining about their doctor standards?

Answer:

typically in clinical trials like all quantitative experiements
will have a controlled group given no medication/low dosage against a test group given the trial medication at trial dosage
after a trial time period, results of both group will be compared
and ta-da the findings whether the drug works
of cos they will have to finish trial on animals first before trying on human
by right theyt have to safeguard the health of the human guinea pigs
but since its a trial...there will always a chance where things go wrong
as mentioned by His worship slimboyfat, some trials are patients (eg with aids or cancer) who got nothing to lose
but mostly ppl do it bec of money

Answer:

they get free treatments they just chiong.. maybe they are already 1 foot into the grave liao.. lets say they are desperate.

Answer:

Or so the saying goes, "People will go anything for money".

Answer:

if anytin goes wrong, it's their life tt they r payin~

Answer:

why are we bashing ppl who wans to be guinea pigs. without them animal testing can only go so far. how do we know for certain that a type of drug can definitely work jus by animal testing?

Answer:

maybe the person received the treatment is not being paid but behind the scene maybe his family members are taken care of by the hospital? $$$? we do not know..

Answer:

yeah.. it's also their choice lah.. maybe they got ku zhong? we also dunno..

Answer:

the trial starts from animals den healthy volunteers den those wif these diesase...zz i 4get le...
hav 2 test thru healthy volunteer cos they haf 2 noe whether if the drug is toxic a not wor...

Answer:

got $$ take, why not!
i might go for one of them depending on what they are testing on

Answer:

If i had an illness i wouldn't mind going for a trial on a new cure for my illness.

Answer:

let say if one time u try is $400 will u go for it??? i used to hab fren who goes for it~~~ they r onli 19 e most~~ but one try is $400 leh~~ somemore in sg is safe~~~ they dun dare to risk ur life~~~

Answer:

Yep, indeed safe.
So safe till the extend that some Singaporeans believe there won't be any side effects?
Perhaps they forgotten it is a 'Trial test' or either that, they are naive.
